Pas de Chat and a stretching video

Pas de Chat:
Cat's-step. The step owes its name to the likeness of the movement to a cat's leap.

I am looking forward to seeing the Nutcracker next week. Hopefully I can find time to write about it after I see it.

Class was good as usual on Thursday. The class was a little smaller so the teacher asked if there were any requests for center work. I requested Pas de Chat (check out the quicktime video with a demonstration).

My question is, why is this step always ignored in my classes in New York? When I took the ballet class during my vacation in Seattle we had to do a combination with Pas de Chat across the floor....

Of course I proceeded to mess up the step (in both classes) but it is always a learning process.

I was so tired yesterday I didn't go to Pilates mat class. And today my foot is hurting again. I visit to the podiatrist might be in order soon. In fact I am planning to change podiatrist and go to one who is more specialized in sports injuries.

Lets hope my foot gets better and we are all injury free!
